While the pretty purple plant itself is a sight to see, its versatile essential oil is where the healing powers are at. From your head to your toes, lavender oil can help you de-stress, decompress, and develop your healthiest routines yet.

What exactly is lavender oil?

Lavender oil, also known by its scientific name Lavandula angustifolia, is a type of essential oil derived from—you guessed it—the lavender flower. Although it's now grown globally, lavender is native to the Mediterranean, the Arabian Peninsula, and Russia.

How to use and  apply  lavender oil?

There are countless ways to use it. It is usually applied topically to the skin and hair. 100 Lavender oil, just like any highly concentrated oil, should be used carefully and diluted. That is why 2 to 3 drops is enough. Therefore, remember to use lavender oil with another natural oil that will become the base. 2 drops of lavender oil can be mixed, for example, with coconut oil, olive oil, or argan and almond oil. The oil can also be mixed with baking soda and use incase of insect bites.

Two drops of oil in the diffuser will allow you to spray a fresh and soothing fragrance in your home and will also help you calm down and sleep easier.

Always use concentrated oils with caution and diluted with other oils. Pregnant and nursing women should consult a doctor before using lavender oil.
